Licensing

Although we would like to be able to offer Akaroa2 free of charge to everyone, economic realities mean that we need to support our research activities somehow. Therefore, we are offering two standard licensing options:
  • A one-year student licence, for 50 euros.
  • An unlimited-term non-commercial individual licence, for 100 euros.
Site licences and commercial licences are also negotiable, see below.

Note: Before applying for a licence, you should check the system requirements below, and you may want to download the documentation.

Student Licence

The student licence lasts for one year and allows Akaroa to be used by a student working on a bona fide research project at a recognised university.

To apply for a student licence:

  1. Download the application form: PDF
  2. Have it printed or photocopied onto your official departmental letterhead. (Plain paper forms will not be accepted.)
  3. Fill out the form and have your supervisor sign it.
  4. Scan the signed form and send it to one of the addresses below.
Do not send any payment with the form. We will advise you of payment options upon acceptance of your application.

Note: The student licence applies only to students. University staff members wanting to use Akaroa2 for research or other activities must purchase an individual licence.

Individual Licence

The individual licence allows Akaroa to be used by one person for any not-for-profit activity.

To apply for an individual licence, fill out and sign this application form: PDF. Scan the signed form and send it to one of the addresses below.

Do not send any payment with the form. We will advise you of payment options upon acceptance of your application.
